The C Word! Shhhh

CHRISTMAS

Christmas is always just around the corner for me, even in January. I love Christmas, the hustle and bustle of it all, so making Christmas cards all year round is a must, but I love that too. last year I was asked for more reindeer cards so when I seen this little cheeky chappie, called Rudolph, from Whimsey stamps  I knew I just had to colour it and use this in 'a sketchy challenge'
http://thesketchychallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

It was quite interesting for me but really enjoyed making it, I have no one in mind when I make cards usually and often get a little uninspired with how to start so having a sketch already and waiting for me to put my take on it worked.

I hope you like what you see

Not 1 but 2 today

Hello everyone,

Just checking in with not 1 but 2 cards today, both very similar but with a slight difference,

This one I made in lemon and black, I used an IndigoBlu stamp, which I stamped with memento black ink, I added black flat beads to the stamp to make it look a little less flat and die cut a butterfly.

For added effect I attatched gold sticky backed Gems to the body.

The black bow was added to complete the card.

This card I made with the same image in mind, but made some slight changes, the colour as you can see is pink and black.

I used the same images and butterfly, but I glittered the butterfly in Nuvo pure sheen glitter before adding it to the card.

I used pink flat beads on the body of it.

I added a smaller bow and added a fat pink bead on that too.

It took me a while to pluck up the courage to make these cards that use Distress inks, but when I finally made 1, I realised how easily they are to make and they dont really take long if you have an image in mind to work with,

I hope you like what you see.

Until I blog again, keep smiling. x

Make it crafty with Penny and Scott

Hello again,
I just wanted to share this card I made. I combined 3 images from Make it crafty, the 1st called Penny and Scott cuddle, another called Love heart, and the final one is just the sentiment happy birthday. My daughter asked I could make her a card for her boyfriends
birthday, something nice and loving.

I decided to make it into a shaker card and put various sizes of red hearts into the large cut out one.

The colours of Copics I used for the colouring are
skin - E00
her hair - E59, E57, E53
his hair - 100, W9, W7, W3, B41
her jacket - R89, R85, R83, R81
his jacket - B39, B28, B24, B91, E40
her jeans - 100, C7, C3, C1
his jeans - 100, C7, C3, C1
and the heart - R27, R46, AND R59.

I matt and layered it onto a piece of red card then added it to a 7x7 card.

Hope you like what you see, please feel free to leave any feedback.

Ballerina birthday card

Hello everyone,

I just thought I would post on here again and show you my very 1st everyday card of 2016!

It was an order that someone asked me for and I really loved making it. He asked if I could make a 16th birthday card that is ballerina themed for his niece,

I went onto pinterest and had a quick look through to give me some inspiration and from there I started to make this beauty,

The picture itself was a black and white image, but I also wanted to add some pastel pink into it too,  I found some black and pale pink backing paper that had music on and thought that would compliment the image. for added detail I added Emily and the ballet shoes, and the 16 from our silhouette Cameo.  I didn't think that was enough so I found out some black and some pink small bows and added these to the left side. I loved it and so did he when he seen it.

last card of 2015

Hello its me,

I think I have a bit of an addiction now as I was thinking about blogging all night and what I would post today, well here it is

This was the last card I made in 2015, I made it for my daughters birthday.
I made it as an 8x8 card and used 2 Chloe stamps which I heat embossed, I use Chloe stamps as they are so easy to use to either stamp or heat emboss.

I stamped the butterflies 1st in silver and then heat embossed them onto another piece of card and cut around the butterflies, I glittered parts of it in blue and purple to add definition and pasted them over the top of the stamped ones to make them raised.

I heat embossed the Happy Birthday and glittered some parts with blue glitter.

I glittered around the edges of the white card and backed it onto the blue, I then backed it onto a white and blue patterned backing paper and then onto the same colour blue as before.

For the final touch I added a classy blue sparkly gem in the corner.

I hope you like what I have done to give you inspiration.

Until I blog again, keep smiling. x
